Assignment and Expectations
The Union Elementary School in Přezletice was built as a modern educational center for the 21st century. The goal was to create an inspiring environment with an emphasis on polytechnic and robotic education, connecting the school with the community, developing student skills across disciplines, and also providing a pleasant and functional environment for teachers.
MY DVA Solution: Thoughtful and Flexible Interior
The school boasts eight specialized classrooms:
- Robotics and polytechnics: equipment with VEX sets, 3D printer, robotic field, and flexible furniture supports creativity and technical thinking.
- Natural sciences: desks with built-in electrical panels, demonstration table with regulation of electricity and gas supply, and space for experiments in small groups.
- Language laboratory: retractable work systems and ROBOTEL software enable individual and group language teaching with maximum teacher control.
- Art studio and ceramics workshop: light-filled spaces with variable tables, easels, and work islands.
- Practice kitchen: four fully equipped kitchen islands, washing counter, washer, and dryer for practical household tasks.
Core Classrooms
1st level: bean-shaped desks allow for quick changes in arrangement according to teaching style. The back part serves as a relaxation area in the afternoon with seat cushions and small bookshelves.
2nd level: two-person desks with storage boxes and large bulletin boards. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards.
After-School Care
From morning until afternoon, it offers facilities for play, rest, and creativity. Organic puzzle tables, printed play tables, mobile libraries, and storage units create a dynamic space for children of all ages.
Leisure Zone
Right at the entrance, a space for independent study and relaxation was created - with a bar table, charging stations, mobile tables, and balance seating. There's also a sofa, foosball table, and table tennis.
Conditions for Teachers
Each office offers:
- work desk
- chair and mobile container
- storage spaces and bulletin boards
- private kitchenette for staff comfort.
Gymnasium
Fully equipped sports facilities with traditional equipment as well as basketball hoops, rings, climbing ropes, and goals. Possibility of community use outside of school hours.
Dining Hall
Simple, functional, and safe: durable tables, lightweight plastic chairs without sharp edges, easy to handle and maximally practical.
Lockers and Hallways
Lockable cabinets, benches, and stools distributed throughout the school - all with an emphasis on organization and comfort.
Feedback and Future
The school is becoming not only a place of education but also a community center - with planned research days, cooking competitions, connections with foreign schools, and cultural events for families.
